Manuals and operating disciplines

In addition to writing, editing, and providing graphics, document design, and page layout, Editech has participated in prerelease software testing and evaluation. Extensive glossaries, tables of contents, and indexes are often included. Past efforts have included:

• Three manuals for a laboratory automation product

• A manual for an advanced modeling and simulation program

• A manual for searching a proprietary database

• A reference guide for a library system

• Equipment operating manuals

  • Industrial process equipment (centrifuges, blenders, extruders, etc.)

  • Water conditioning units

  • Machine tools

• A series of handbooks for maintenance tradespeople (pipefitters, electricians, etc.)

• Operating disciplines that detail procedures to be used by a variety of corporate functions to accomplish complicated tasks

Training programs

Editech prepared an introductory package and six modules for an advanced training program for a client’s distributors. Editech provided the text, artwork, page layout, and camera-ready copy for almost all documents in this series, as well as selecting photographs and composing and printing slides.

Reference materials

Editech worked with clients to develop the “Styrene Polymers” section of the Encyclopedia of Polymer Science and Engineering, second edition. Preparing this 250-page section included editing copy from a number of authors for both content and writing quality and editing and proofreading the galleys. We also helped with many of the organizational details of the project.
