Editech uses high-performance computers and can accept a variety of file formats and return work to you as you prefer. Microsoft Word is our primary word processor, but we can convert among many word-processor and graphic file formats, including common Macintosh formats. We also use programs to create publication-quality technical illustrations (CorelDRAW, DeltaGraph Pro, ChemWindow) and scan and edit photographs (Corel PhotoPaint). We can integrate text and graphics using our word processor or one of several page-layout programs (Adobe PageMaker, Microsoft Publisher). Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, and Access are also in regular use. We can also create Adobe Acrobat files for electronic distribution on disk or from your web site.

We use a 24 page per minute, tabloid-size, 1200-dpi PostScript laser printer with duplexing capabilities for printing text and graphics, allowing us to provide near-typeset quality black-and-white copy, supply accurate laser proofs before transferring files to electronic prepress suppliers, or print many small jobs directly. In many cases we can print jobs in booklet form. Several ink-jet printers offer color-proofing capability and do a good job on presentation transparencies and small posters and forms.

Flat-bed scanners enable us to scan photographs or perform optical character recognition (OCR) with typed material not available in electronic formats. A high-resolution digital camera is also available.

For larger quantities or for more specialized output (such as 35-mm slides), we work with both local and national print shops and service bureaus to produce your materials quickly, efficiently, and cost-effectively.
